History

The Trelawny Tamper was developed in association with Thames Water Utilities. It conforms to the New Roads and Street Works Act (UK).

Rigorous tests were carried out over a two year period by Thames Water Utilities and a number of approved research establishments. Results show the Trelawny Tamper to be number one in its field.

Tests on the vibration damped system proved it to be highly effective.
WRc (Water Research Council) assessed the compaction achieved by the Trelawny pole Tamper, along with compaction equipment from other manufacturers, during research projects undertaken for the UK water industry.

The equipment was used to compact Granular Sub-Base Type I (GSB1) strictly in accordance with the HAUC (Highway Authorities & Utilities Committee, UK)Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways. Under these particular conditions, the equipment achieved the optimum compacted dry density of the GSB1.

Low Vibration

Trelawny Vibration Reduced "HAWK" Tamper has been extensively tested by research establishments for the safe compaction around objects such as fragile pipes, utility poles and water meters.

The unique vibration damping system reduces vibration to only 3.5 m/s2 for reduced risk of vibration related injuries and improved operator control.
